Workplace Giving
Did you know your workplace giving program can power our work with LGBTQ youth?
SMYAL will use your workplace gift where it is needed most: to sustain our amazing youth leadership development programs and to ensure our youth center is not only a safe place for LGBTQ youth, but a vibrant community space where youth from around the region come together to discover, learn, and grow. Workplace donations enable SMYAL to spend less time fundraising and more time nurturing, empowering, and educating LGBTQ youth--and they provide nearly 10 percent of SMYAL's annual operating support.
When you give through an employer program like the ones at Verizon, Kaiser Permanente, or any local, state, or federal government office, it's as if you're in two places at once: in a meeting and at our youth center, typing an email and mentoring LGBTQ youth. When you give through your workplace, you can feel good knowing that every moment you spend sitting at your desk is ultimately helping build a community of LGBTQ youth who are committed to advocacy and leadership.

Donating stock or mutual funds is a tax-wise method of making a lasting contribution to SMYAL.
Your gift made in this manner will help ensure that SMYAL's doors remain open for youth in need of support, while also providing you with considerable tax benefits, including income tax and capital gains tax savings. Estate Planning: Leave a Lasting Contribution
They say life happens when we are making other plans.
We want you will live a long and fulfilled life, and planning
your estate is an important way to provide for your loved ones. It is also a great way to ensure LGBTQ youth always have access
to high-impact programming and a safe place to be who they are.
- Bequests: Leave SMYAL a gift through your will or revocable living trust
- Name SMYAL as a beneficiary: Designate SMYAL as a beneficiary of your bank account, retirement and pension plan, or life insurance policy.
- Appreciated Assets: Donate securities (i.e. stock), personal property, real estate and insurance policies.
Talk to your legal or financial adviser to learn more about the ways in which you can include SMYAL in your estate plan. Donate Your Old Car, Boat, or RV
Interested in donating your vehicle to charity? Donate it to SMYAL!
You may deduct the full fair market value of your vehicle on your taxes. And SMYAL receives 70% of the proceeds from the sale of your vehicle on the wholesale market. We work with a reputable car donation processor, Car Program, which will make all the arrangements at no cost to you. They handle the title transfer requirements and will provide you with a tax deductible donation receipt when they pick-up your car.
