Donate Stock:
Donating stock or mutual funds is a tax-wise method of making a lasting contribution to SMYAL. These gifts can help ensure that SMYAL's doors remain open for youth in need of support, while also providing you with considerable tax benefits, including income tax and capital gain tax savings. Discuss your donation with your broker to learn more about possible benefits. Car Donations: Donate Your Car
Interested in donating your car to charity? Donate it to SMYAL! You may deduct the full fair market value of your vehicle on your taxes. And SMYAL receives 70% of the proceeds from the sale of your vehicle on the wholesale market! SMYAL uses a third party car donation company to manage the whole donation process. And that means it's an easy, low-cost, and hassle-free way for you to invest in today's gay and lesbian youth! It's a win-win situation. Estate Planning: Leave a Lasting Contribution
Planning your estate is a terrific way to make a lasting contribution to SMYAL while taking advantage of favorable federal and state tax laws. Your gift can reduce your income taxes including capital gain as well as reduce transfer taxes.
- Bequests: Leave SMYAL a gift through your will or revocable living trust
- Name SMYAL as a beneficiary: Designate SMYAL as a beneficiary of your bank account, retirement and pension plan, or insurance policy.
- Appreciated Assets: Donate securities (i.e. stock), personal property, real estate and insurance policies.
By including SMYAL in your will or estate plan, you can help ensure that LGBTQ youth always have a safe space to be who they are, and have access to high-impact programming. Talk to your legal or financial advisor to learn more about the ways in which you can include SMYAL in your estate plan.
