Safer-Sex Outreach - The Peer Education Internship Program

Peer Education on HIV/STI Prevention

This program is for local youth leaders to help educate their peers about HIV/AIDS and other sexually-transmitted infections (STIs). Following an intensive course in STI prevention techniques and group facilitation techniques, youth are now prepared to offer interactive workshops to their peers in local schools and youth groups focusing on awareness, safety, and risk reduction for many of the infections prevalent among youth. They are also ready to serve their community as sources of information, role models, and trusted friends by making an impact on the lives of youth like them.

Because our Peer Educators are students themselves, they are typically available only for workshops after school hours.

To schedule a training, please email supporterinfo@smyal.org. Our trainers will be in-touch after we receive your request.
