Little SMYALs

What is Little SMYALs?

Little SMYALs is a group dedicated to 6-12 year olds to provide young people a safe(r) space to hang out and meet new people, access resources, and gain support.

Little SMYALs has gone virtual!

Join us on Zoom for art and crafts, enrichment activities, storytime, and all-around fun!

When and where does Little SMYALs meet?

Little SMYALs for queer and trans youth ages 6-12 has gone virtual!

When: The second and fourth Saturday of the Month, 10-11am

Where: In a private, Zoom-hosted room. Link provided via email.

Can parents and siblings stay during programming?

One parent/ caregiver must be available for the first 5 minutes of the virtual program. This is primarily to help your child adjust to the virtual platform, but also to assist with any technical issues that may arise! SMYAL staff will also be able to answer any of your questions at this time.

We also now offer a peer-led Parent/Caregiver group! This is a virtual meetup for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+/GNC youth to connect with others around similar experiences. This meetup happens at the same time as Little SMYALs and is facilitated by parents of Little SMYALs youth. Register for the Parent/Caregiver Group HERE.

How much does it cost?

Little SMYALs is free of cost for all attendees.

Do I have to pre-register?

In order to attend this month’s groups, you must reserve your spot ahead of time! You will need a phone, iPad, computer, etc. with access to the internet in order to participate. Youth can join with video, audio, or via chat. We recommend joining with both video and audio, to most closely mimic our in-person groups.

You’ll receive a copy of the Zoom link once you register. You’ll receive the zoom link via email directly from eventbrite. We cap each session at 20 youth to ensure all children get the attention they deserve. As long as spots remain, you may register up until one hour before the group begins.
