Manuel is the LGBTQ+ Services Navigator for Montgomery County, Maryland. Primarily his role is to work with LGBTQ+ young people to develop fun and empowering programs in spaces where they can feel safe, seen, and heard. He will work collaboratively with LGBTQ+ youth, schools, and partner agencies in MoCo to assist young people with accessing services and programs they want/need. Manuel is invested in community education and will also be offering learning opportunities for people to come together to build a healthier and safer community.

Manuel was born in NYC and raised in Pennsylvania where he graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Art. He recently moved to the DMV and welcomes ideas for fun spots to visit when he is not working. He brings with him 8 years of experience advocating with youth and providing trauma-informed care/counseling to individuals and families that have experienced trauma. He hopes to use his skills to empower and inspire young LGBTQ+ people to be their most creative and authentic selves.

When he is not at SMYAL, Manuel enjoys making art, being outdoors, writing, dancing Bachata, and spending time with the people and animals he loves (and likes).
