Samia Lalani

Samia comes to SMYAL with over six years of experience as a researcher, clinician, and case manager in the field of mental health and wellness. Originally from Toronto, they earned their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans and moved to DC in 2017.

Samia is passionate about creating safe, healing spaces and resources for LGBTQ communities of color. He hopes to use his background in advocacy, organizing, and facilitation to serve youth in the DMV area. As Assistant Programs Director at SMYAL, she is committed to supporting the needs of youth and creating, implementing, and maintaining programs for them to thrive.

When not at work, you can find Samia sharing food and thoughts with loved ones, spending time in nature, and sipping lots of tea.
