Our community spaces give youth a place where they can meet other young people who hold the same identities. These spaces are open for youth to talk about a wide variety of topics that impact them or just be in community with one another. We offer spaces for:

  • Ace+Aro Youth
  • Bi+Pan Youth
  • BIPOC Youth
  • Queer and Trans Youth with Disabilities
  • Trans and Non-Binary Youth hosted with Gender Spectrum (2 groups hosted on Zoom)
    • Ages 13-19
    • Ages 18-24

All groups are hosted on Discord.

Community Deep Dives are a chance for youth to learn and engage with different topics such as health, wellness, and art. These deep dives will include facilitators from SMYAL as well as other community members and organizations. Hosted on Zoom.

Little SMYALs for queer and trans youth ages 6-12 has gone virtual! In order to attend this month’s groups, you must reserve your spot ahead of time! You will need a phone, iPad, computer, etc. with access to the internet in order to participate. Youth can join with video, audio, or via chat. We recommend joining with both video and audio, to most closely mimic our in-person groups.

When: The second  and last Saturday of the Month, 10-11am

Where: In a private, Zoom-hosted room. Link provided upon registration.

Who’s running it?: Addison Moore (Drop-In Programs Manager) and Ty Kitchen (Community Engagement and Youth Leadership Manager)

One parent/ caregiver must be available for the first 5 minutes of the virtual program. This is primarily to help your child adjust to the virtual platform, but also to assist with any technical issues that may arise! SMYAL staff will also be able to answer any of your questions at this time.

Click HERE to register your child for our upcoming meetings. You’ll receive a copy of the Zoom link once you register. There is no cap to registration, and you can register a young person up until the group begins.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We have compiled a master list of resources for parents and caregivers. Check our Resources page for updates.

Q Chat Space online discussion groups give you a dedicated space to come together with other youth and talk about topics relevant to your identities and experiences hosted by LGBTQ youth centers from across the country.

There are chats hosted every day of the week with rotating topics.
