Kasey Brown (she/her) is determined to preserve the LGBTQ+ community’s safety through her activism. As the president of her high school’s Gay Straight Alliance (GSA), Kasey enhanced the club to include more than just community building; she introduced elements of advocacy, education, and support to better uplift her club members. Kasey’s visibility as a transgender person and as the club president allowed her to reach out to other trans students in her community and provide advice, as well as make the GSA more accommodating for neurodivergent members. Kasey is committed to the University of Pittsburgh and will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics.
