Kailah Floyd’s (she/her) leadership began in her family. When coming out to her family, Kailah thought long and hard about how to do so in a way that would allow her to be accepted, but also to make sure she was taken seriously. They created an idea on how to slowly introduce their sexuality to their father and his side of the family, which led to fruitful discussions that would help their family better understand more about the LGBTQ+ community, and themself. Kailah will be attending McDaniel College in the fall, where she plans to expand her leadership skills in the LGBTQ+ community.
