Director of Clinical Services
Brittni was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC and comes to SMYAL with 14 years of experience working in the social work field. Brittni has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She also received her bachelor’s Degree at Johnson C Smith University, where she was a scholarship athlete for track, basketball, and volleyball. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Her areas of work include providing therapy to individuals, groups, families, and couples who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, grief & loss, mental health, trauma/abuse, sexuality, and life transition challenges. Her experience also includes providing clinical supervision to individuals who are attempting to develop their clinical skill set in the social work field.
Prior to taking on her role at SMYAL, she was the supervisor of the Functional Family Therapy Team at the Department of Human Services. She prides herself on being the clinician that helps clients identify practical ways to enhance their quality of life based on their views. Brittni believes that real change happens when people are given the support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling and happy lives.
When she is not providing therapy or supervision, she finds joy in spending time with her family and friends, playing recreational sports, binge-watching her favorite shows, cooking some of her favorite southern recipes, and being a soccer mom.
