Jonathan Yannes is a recent graduate of James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Jonathan is an outspoken leader in not only his school, but in his faith community as well. As President of his school’s National Honors Society and co-leader of the GSA, Allies 4 Equality, Jonathan leads with bravery. He uses his visibility to educate those around him, be it his peers or adults in his community. By being open about his identity and transition, Jonathan wants to be an example for LGBTQ youth as well as a teacher for non-LGBTQ people to empower them to be conscientious allies.
